Customers include audio professionals, musicians, software developers, and home users. Cakewalk was founded in 1987 by CEO Greg Hendershott. Electronic instrument maker Roland, a longtime Cakewalk partner, brought its ownership to 60% in 2008 when it added 45% to its previous stake.
